Sonja graduated from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff with a 1st class BSc (Hons) Podiatry degree. She worked in the NHS in South Wales providing podiatry/chiropody treatment in hospital and community clinic settings before moving into private practice.
She originally trained as a professional dancer gaining a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Dance) degree from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. This background and experience of injury on a personal level has given her a special interest in musculoskeletal biomechanics which she is currently underpinning with an MSc in Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation. Her research experience includes work undertaken with two of the UK's leading professional dance companies which she has recently had accepted for publication in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. She is also a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science.
Sonja has worked with athletes of all abilities from amateur to elite with television credits including Celebrity Fit Club for ITV. She is passionate about helping individuals of all ages and abilities to maintain their mobility and achieve their goals.
Sonja enjoys keeping active and aside from dance her interests include skiing and snowboarding having spent 3 winter seasons working the French Alps.
