Treating at a Distance
Geographic distance is not a problem for Bodyfactor. It is beneficial to travel to either London –
Covent Garden (by train and then tube to Covent Garden), or to Chertsey which is just 2 minutes
from Junction 11 of the M25, with parking on site.
The initial assessment is normally 1.5 hours, which encompasses clinical assessment,
biomechanical analysis, isokinetic muscle performance testing and video gait analysis
(if appropriate). Following this a diagnosis is given and a rehabilitation programme recommended.
This programme may include mobility and core exercises, gym strengthening and flexibility.
The Podiatrist can make orthoses on the spot if necessary, or post them to your home if not.
Treatment may be advised to be performed locally near home. The clinicians will write a report
for the practitioner in your area, ensuring continuity of treatment.
A review date will be set for approximately 6-8 weeks. A re-test will then be performed isokinetically
along with a review of symptoms. The analysed results will be used to advance your rehabilitation
programme and if applicable introduce circuit type exercises, fartlek training and plyometric sports
specific work.
Bodyfactor have successfully treated many people this way for the past four years.
